BelsnickleSF_icon.jpg

For our holiday episode, Timothy and Alison talk Belsnickel, the wild man of Pennsylvania Christmastime. Much fiercer and stranger than a simple proto-Santa Claus figure, Belsnickel was called a "bad faerie" and "half-man, half-beast" - which came from the forest at night to haunt children. Timothy and Alison read multiple historical accounts of the frightening Belsnickel smacking walls, peeking in windows, speaking in unknown languages, and generally behaving like a bigfoot creature. Timothy also presents an old song and a poem about Belsnickel uncovered in the research for this episode.

Jennie Behm's body is found in a cornfield two miles from her house. A coroner's inquest yields no answers. Timothy and Alison visit the cornfield and discuss their final thoughts on the story. A new suspect in Jennie's death comes to light. The Broken Circle closes (for now). In the second part of the show we discuss the 90th anniversary of Nelson Rehymeyer's death in the so-called "Hex Murder" as well as Timothy's new book, Don't Look Behind You.

Jennie Behm was born on the 19th of September 1923. She was last seen alive on the morning of July 28, 1925. In The Broken Circle we will explore the mysteries which surround Jennie's disappearance.

In this episode we discuss an earlier disappearance from the Behm home, Floyd Hollenbach. Is the missing boy connected to Jennie's disappearance? We also hear about the discovery of a child's skeleton in a mysterious red chest not far from where Jennie disappeared.

In the middle of a heavy downpour, with rain leaking into the studio, OK Talk's Clint Granberry returns to Strange Familiars to continue our rambling synchronicity conversation. This time things get a little darker as Timothy tells of his recent raccoon attack in Hex Hollow - and all the synchronicities that surrounded those events. Clint takes another random phone call with remarkable results (including some possible live EVPs).

Timothy talks to Sam about several strange experiences Sam had in the Black Diamond Cemetery. Ghostly figures, mystery lights, orbs, and more. Was it ghosts, bigfoot, or something else? The conversation then turns to other aspects of the paranormal as Sam and Timothy share and compare their experiences.
